Lakefest

A few weekends ago Zach, Tatum, and I drove to Marble Falls for their annual Lakefest. It was our first time, but probably not the last. To borrow from the fest's site, it turns "Lake Marble Falls into a liquid quarter-mile "racetrack" and the banks of the lake into a wild three-day boat race party." Totally accurate.

We met Jenny, Joel, and their girls Larkin and Willa there and enjoyed the view from a big shady tree. It was over 100, AGAIN, but Tatum was a champ!

There was sno-cone eating (don't you just adore that hat???)....

A nap in front of the HUGE misting fan under the tent...

and REALLY loud races, none of which woke Tatum while she was sleeping.

I have a feeling we'll be going next year too!

Gran & Pops Visit

We were lucky to play host to Zach's parents again recently thanks to another follow-up appointment from her hand surgery earlier this summer.

They've gotten to see Bug every month since May and I'm so grateful because they've really gotten a good glimpse into her little life and they've gotten to watch her grow right before their eyes!

There was lots of reading...

Lots of kisses...

A little singing too...

Some fun with a butterfly balloon Tatum eyed at the grocery store...

Oh, and some more kissing action. The girl loves her Dada something AWFUL!

These are a few of my favorite things...

I had a bunch of pictures left over from July that I wanted to share, but didn't really have much to say about other than they all show Tatum with her current favorites.

So.... here they are!

As soon as we go to my parent's house, Tatum goes right to the coat closet and yells for her car. "Cah, cah, cah!" She'll sit in it until you bring it. Her favorite part of the ride is the "drag race" with Daddy down the long hall. She's got speed in her genes, alright!

This captures TWO of Tatum's favorites. Gramma AND books! Pair them together and she's happy as a clam!

Nothing like some fresh watermelon from the garden for a snack on a HOT summer day!

Silly Scooch!

She loves to drink the water in her pool. She'll use stacking cups, toys, or just lean down like the dogs do.

Daddy+Goldfish+Pool=Pure Joy!

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say I'm one of her favorites too... I hope!

Being such a good "helper" all the time!

And last, but not least, BUBBLES! Or as Tatum calls them, "Bubum!"

Wimberley Visitors

This last month has seen many visitors to our Flite Acres.

Zach's mom was back in Austin for another follow up visit after her hand surgery. This time, sister Megan came too! Here we are eating at one of our favorite haunts, The Gristmill in Gruene. Yes, it was HOT!!

My best friend Melissa came out to see us while she was in Austin from New York.

For those you that don't know her, we've been attached at the hip since we were three and I moved in across the street from her in Houston. We spent countless days playing, being Brownies together, driving to high school together, and even living together in college at UT.

If I had it my way, she'd live next door! BUT, I'm so happy she's living int he Big Apple pursuing her dreams of Broadway. She's an AMAZING singer and actress. I have NO DOUBT she'll make it big and I'll be there on opening night to cheer her on.

It was awesome to get to spend some time with her and catch up. Plus, Tatey got some good playtime in with her Aunt Melly!

Zach's buddy Joel, my friend Jenny's hubby, came over while Jenny was in Wisconsin to have a boy's night. The guys enjoyed some German beer under the car port playing Halo on the big screen. They took this picture themselves... they don't look happy at all, do they?

To Grandmother's House We Go...

Tatum has started to recognize when we turn onto Gramma and Grampa's driveway. Here is what she looks like as we continue down it to their house. So stinkin' adorable.

Here she's pointing at the house as we round the last corner.

She'll stare at the front door until she sees Gramma come out. Here, I was asking her where Gramma was.

Gramma, of course, doesn't enjoy this excited anticipation at all. HA! ;)
